Recycling Operator 

East Tamaki

Since 1993 we have had a full Recycling operation on-site at our East Tamaki headquarters, where we recycle old whiteware and divert thousands of tonnes of material away from New Zealand landfills. On average, we recycle around 25,000 appliances each year. This means that in the past 26 years we have diverted more than half a million appliances, or well over 30,000 tonnes of material, away from landfill.

We're looking now for a new Recycling Operator to join a team of three and help carry out these day-to-day recycling operations.

 

Applicants will need to have the following attributes:

  • Have proven previous experience in a warehouse, recycling or labour role. 

  • To be physically fit with a degree of mechanical aptitude

  • Have good organisational skills 

  • Have the capability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procudure manuals. 

  • Have a positive attitude, initiative and sense of humour 

  • A forlkift license would be advantageous, but not essential. 


 

Applicants key responsibilities will be:

  • Recycle products, including cycle counts 

  • Receipt, store and dispatch goods 

  • Contribute to the maintenance of shared equipment 

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work station and assist in the general maintenance of the warehouse.

  • Work safely: understand and adhere to the relevant Health & Safety requirements.
